LAPU-LAPU 2011 TOURISM NIGHT
0Tourism Night consisted of several Resorts showing off their traditional food with a few Resorts putting on a traditional dance. One of the most interesting aspects of the night was trying to catch a taxi back home; seems that they all where in Cebu at the time; we ended up taking a Trike which is basically a suicide basket attached to a motorcycle. The night did go well the food was good and it was an interesting event, plus we all got home safe. As always, if you have any requests or want me to research anything in Cebu feel free to email me at bradleym@stuckincebu.com

FIRE DANCE AT IMPERIAL PALACE RESORT AND SPA
0I have seen many fire dances in my time but this one offered by Imperial Palace Resort and Spa seems to be one of the best. I was really surprised at the professional show and the number of Fire Dancers. The hotel guests seem to really enjoy the show and I’m sure it will be a great memory for years to come. The pool bar is located where the show takes place so you could actually sit in the pool, have a drink and watch the dance show at Imperial Palace.

MAGELLAN’S PUB & FOOD
0A nice getaway from the typical Cebu Bar scene Magellan’s has many activities during the week such as live bands, trivia, and chess and Monday night open mic. Recently the food menu has been going through a few changes but the main menu should be completed soon. Magellan’s has 6 flat panel TV’s that show featured music video’s and movies such as seen on Showtime; they also have specialty alcohols such as Vikingfjord Vodka direct from Norway. A word to the wise, if service seems slow they have a button on the table that informs the waitresses you need service. Over all Magellan’s is a comfortable and Friendly Pub that I recommend you visit if you’ve had a stressful day and just want to unwind. THE POWER OF TOILET PAPER
0Sometimes life can be very simple; your hungry you eat, your tired you sleep, your horny you!!!!! These are basic needs that most of us are blessed with and don’t think about. Life can turn upside down in one instant; can you relate to the following:
Your working in the office or just relaxing on your day off and this pain starts in your lower stomach, you know that in a few minutes all must come out, so you get up slowly and start for the bathroom, half way the pain increases and your holding your bottom cheeks together because the pressure is getting stronger and stronger, you see the toilet and start to feel a little relief, all the sudden you look to the left to the left (yes I know I put to the left twice; sing the song) or the right and notice only a empty roll of toilet paper, your relief turns into fear as you think hard on how you can complete the job. Toilet paper is such a basic need but it’s funny how important it can be when you don’t have it.
In the Philippines Toilet Paper can be very hard to find other then sometimes in the big malls.
So a word to the wise: BRING EXTRA TOILET PAPER WITH YOU WHEN YOU’RE TRAVELLING IN THE PHILIPPINES.
Let’s try and not take for granted the basic needs and be thankful for every minute upon this earth.
